Coral Fungi - Original Pencil Artwork

'Coral Fungi' (Artomyces turgidus)

As the name suggests, coral fungus looks a lot like coral! They look nothing like a traditional mushroom. This piece had me wondering if I was actually drawing an underwater scene but coral fungi grow on decaying wood in the bush.  I've seen a lot of coral fungi around the Waikato and my reference photos for this piece were taken at Mt Pirongia. Coral fungi vary in colour and form, there's a handful of different species around. This one is particularly delicate in form. 

• This is the one and only original pencil drawing.

• I've added a complementary double-matted border to the drawing so it is ready to frame. All you need to do is pop it into a 12 x 12 inch (or 305mm) size frame. 

• The drawing size is about 21 x 21cm plus the double mat border to make a total size of 305 x 305mm (12 x 12 inches)
